Fred Flintstone meets Star Trek TOS, with a cameo appearance by R2D2. This video is hysterical. The video is written by The Firm and Jim Jenkins, and they made a musical out of all the standard Star Trek dialogue.
"It's worse than that, he's dead, Jim." "It's life, Jim, but not as we know it." "There's Klingons on the starboard bow." And, of course, "Ye canna do that, Captain."
This little musical is populated by Flintstone versions of the Star Trek cast, dino-Klingons, alien life forms and dead red shirts.
If you like Star Trek, you'll enjoy it. If you hate Star Trek, you'll laugh yourself silly. Either way, it's a great video.
If you are a Star Trek TOS fan, toddkin's video reminiscence will either delight you or disillusion you. The Star Trek was not one big happy family, and they all (according to Takei) hated one particular cast member the most: William Shatner. This is a well-put-together minidocumentary about the behind the scenes infighting in the Star Trek world, where they smile and shake hands at Star Trek conventions, and cut each other to pieces behind the scenes.
I don't want to accuse anybody of sour grapes, but Shatner has worked constantly since Star Trek ended, in movies and on TV. Takei, on the other hand, has done a lot of Star Trek conventions.
Gene Roddenberry is somewhere rolling over... Spock and the gang in a whole new Universe! I'm pretty familiar with Star Trek, not so familiar with MTV Cribs. But I have to say that what I have seen gives me insight into the clever combination.
My favorite line from this clip was "Hey Scott-ay, beam on down, baby!" But there are many funny lines that you must see and hear for yourself.
Spoofs are fun, baby, and Star Trek spoofs ... prosper.
Gr8shotz is responding to a shoutout, and telling the shouter he is too old for Star Trek (as if anybody could ever be too old for Star Trek). You knew he had to be kidding, right? I don't want to ruin the video, but I will say that if he played with his goatee, he would be a perfect Commander Riker. Right down to tugging on his shirt.
I'm now Spock's Biggest Fan!! When you watch GTV's spoofs of Spock and the Star Trek gang, remember that they are creating each movement with the dolls used. They have animated these characters to a Tee. I'm impressed and entertained. Watch and have fun. Laugh with them, not at them!! These guys got it goin' on~~
In this short clip from G4TV, in whic we see Spock from Star Trek in a way he's never been seen before. Talk about the final frontier! Watch Spock as he gives us the grand tour of his crib. Hearing him rapp, and with special appearances by DJ Scotty, Kirk and others from the original TV series make this video definitely worth a couple viewings and a few laughs.
