It’s always a fun time seeing behind the scenes of television shows and movies, and this clip from a rehearsal for the Video Game Awards is pretty interesting. Kelis is dressed down in jeans, but her milkshake still brings all the boys to the yard, even if her voice is not at its peak. David Spade is actually quite funny as the host and his exchange with one of the DOA girls is hilarious.
If you've never heard the bass throated (Smog) well you're missing on about ten years of awesome music. Bill Callahan, the brains behind the guitar, always writes lyrics that seem to have been slapped together with a forefinger and a dictionary. On several listens, though, you can't help but realize that this is not some two-bit poet with a bad sense of meter, but a strange, straight-laced sense of whimsey. It's fitting that he should be dating Joanna Newsom, the opposite end of the whimsey scale (Whimsical whimsey?) who, by the way, plays the piano on this song.
The video is perfectly animated with red and black animations over a sepia background. It gives the illusion of being created in some futuristic past where cartoons can fade in and out of clouds and long tendrilly eyeballs can peer at cowboys with guitars. Yet its simple elegance of emerging from and returning to a thumbprint of sorts give this video a feeling of cohesion.
Ten high-fives to anyone who can tell me what "645" stands for in the video. Also: ten more high-fives (for a total of 20) to anyone who can tell me how in the Hell they do that cloudy murk that flotsams each drawing away.
Oh, by the way, my name is Cap'n Guthrie, and this is my first post here. Thought I'd smash this bottle of YouTube champagne on your face to christen this new ship o' mine.
It’s no shocker that if you’re stuck at your computer all day without moving you start to feel really sluggish. So why not join the Zipster and other YouTube fanatics in a dance-marathon started by Tubegranny? This video features Zip dancing to “I Like the Way (You Move)” by the BodyRockers. He’s not going to be on Dancing With the Stars any time soon, but it doesn’t matter. It’s just fun and carefree dancing to beat the doldrums. So pick out your own booty shaking music and rock out.
Love W or hate him you gotta love the work by jessicapeanut ... and especially if you like Gnarls Barkley's music and the song "Crazy".
I love all jessicapeanut's videos. She obviously spends a lot of quaility time creating these very topical and entertaining music videos, each with a message that deals with current events, although if your politic views lean right you will not appreaciate the ones dealing with Dubya and his gang, but she also produces some very upbeat videos with pets and animals as her subjects.
The words and images are always perfectly choreographed and the sync to the music is often laugh-out-loud funny, as in this one ("I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind...") Enjoy.
Wait, so gamers like hot girls? Girls playing with their plasic ... um, game consoles. Another fun video from our friends at G4TV. They always have the goods.
This was a very hard video for me to watch because it just looks so painful. It's like watching a train wreck because you just can't look away. This man is videotaped lying on a bed of nails. We've seen magicians do this, but this is no magic trick. I can't believe this guy did this. Let's definitely file this video in the 'do not try this at home kids' category. As much as it hurt to watch, it is definitely a video worth watching. Check it out.
DCLugi has voices in his head. And that's a good thing. His face is also seemingly made of rubber. Watch it contort to look like a country hick, or in this case, Chris Walken's mother. He does the best Christopher Walken impression I've ever seen. (Hear more of his Christopher Walken in Prank Call backfire.) Very funny stuff. I want him with me for my next negotiation. Note the pictures on the mantle behind Mrs. Walken. Nice touch.
I am not a Big Brother fan, but every day when I check out to see what's hot in entertainment for that day, there is at least one or two fan videos for Big Brother. Mostly of Will and Janelle. I didn't even have to watch the series this summer to recognize these two. This fan video takes clips from the series and sets them to Bryan Adams' song, Please Forgive Me. It's a good video with good clip selection. Those in the know when it comes to Big Brother seemed to really enjoy this one too! Check it out!
Lost fans must be really going through withdrawals already with the number of Lost fan videos popping up now with the fall season of the series over. This one really caught my eye though. The opening part of it is real hard hitting.
The video focuses on Jack, but we see Juliet thrown in as well. I'm not sure if I see these two as a couple. They do have a bit of potential though. With Sawyer and Kate finally ending up together, Jack might just look Juliet's way. We'll have to wait until Lost returns in February to find out!
The creator of this video has done some great editing work here though with the clips they chose. Definitely worth checking out.
This parody trailer takes the Harry Potter many know and love and puts him into Stranger Than Fiction, the new movie that takes the relationship between author and character to a whole new level. This parody takes J.K. Rowling in the process of writing the seventh and last book of the Potter series with Harry fighting for his life. This video is funny. The audio and voice over work seemed a little off to me, but that might just be because it isn't believable to me to have the voice of Will Ferrell coming out of Daniel Radcliffe's body. There is some great visual work here though! Check it out!
This is a trailer for a movie set to hit the big screen here in the U.S. this Friday. Before seeing the trailer, I never knew of the movies existence. The movie itself tells the story of how much bad stuff is in the food we eat focusing on the fast food industry. Just watching the trailer made me want to think twice about picking up my next burger. The film really has a documentary feel to it. I'm not sure if that is the intention of the film's producers, but check out the trailer!
This is a video of a fight in school between two boys. The opening and ending sequences of the video are actually the best parts of the video. The shooting of the actual fight itself was pretty weak because of poor camera work. The person behind the camera seemed to have problems keeping the camera steady. It is funny to see the little guy win in this though.
I woke up needing a dose of Borat this morning, so I went hunting through YouTube to share this clip with you! This is another scene from Borat that didn't make the movie. Watch as Borat is pulled over by the police in Dallas. Boo to the cop for not high-fiving Borat. The video is a bit on the dark side, so I am thinking that is why the scene didn't make the final product. This is a great short clip though. Funny stuff. Check it out!
I have seen some idiotic people in my day, but this burglar takes the cake. Watch as this man tries to rob what appears to be a liquor store. First, he can't get into the store. Then he can't seem to find a way out. On his way in, he falls through the roof. Will that be the same way he can make his escape? Watch the video to find out!
I am always one for a great sappy love story. Well, sappy love stories don't get better than The Notebook. It is one of the best romantic movies of all time in my opinion. This video takes clips of the love story of Noah and Allie and sets them to the Celine Dion hit, Because You Loved Me. That song is from the soundtrack of another great romantic film, Up Close & Personal. This video's creator chose some great clips that fit the song quite well. Check it out!
Titanic is one of my favorite films of all time. The events of the sinking of the ill-fated ocean liner have always interested me though. What if the sinking wasn't the end though? This parody trailer goes beyond James Cameron's Titanic and into sequel mode as Jack Dawson is found frozen in a block of ice in the ocean's depths. He is then brought up to the surface, and that is where this sequel's story begins. The video takes clips from other movies Leonardo DiCaprio has done and a few others as well to make a full story for the sequel. It's funny and creative with some great editing work thrown in. Check it out!
Lost fans will like this one! The other day I found an amazing Kate and Sawyer music video. Well, now this one is for the fans of Jack and Kate, the other side of the Lost love triangle. This video uses clips from season one through the last part of season three's fall season. The song used over the clips is Coldplay's Clocks. Some great clips chosen here by the video creator which truly demonstrate the relationship between these two. Check it out!
People seem to either love or hate this video. I'm not sure which way I'm leaning at the moment. I'm somewhere in-between. This video is just strange, but oddly entertaining. I wouldn't try this at home kids because that cat looks like it might be ready to kill once the camera is off. Not only do we have the guy blowing on the cat's belly, but we have a group of people behind him just acting crazy. We'll file this one in the weird but funny file. Which way do you lean? Do you love it or hate it?
