Warning to Japanese men! Don't trust blonde European women! In this hilariously badly acted instructional video, we learn that you should never, ever keep a stranger's purse in your hotel room. Featuring such priceless dialogue as "We got the information that there might be some drugs hiding in this room here." Wait, is this "the best of YouTube"? It is if you're a fan of inept alarmist videos, and why wouldn't you be?
What breaks the heart about this 25-year-old footage is the matter-of-factness of it: here's a boat, here are tourists, here are the Twin Towers, here's more of the New York skyline. Back then, the towers were just eight years old, and there was no reason to think they wouldn't be a part of the scenery forever. Vacationer footage unremarkable a little over five years ago now becomes a historical record.
Google "Senegal" and "drought," and you'll see why this simple clip of kids dancing merrily in the rain is so touching. There, rain is something to celebrate. If you can get past the shakycam, the video puts a lot of things in perspective for those of us who have the luxury of having no feelings about rain one way or the other.
You'll believe a man can eat a chicken foot. The camera pans rather nervously over a variety of Chinese food items, including (urk) a pig brain. Not for the squeamish, but pretty funny.
So it’s not the Nintendo Wii and they haven’t frozen themselves, but check out this line for the PS3 in Japan. The video starts off with a shot of a pretty long line and you notice it’s 3 minutes long. You figure there’s gonna be some line footage then a couple interviews with folks in the line. You follow along the line; then you turn a corner and see that it continues for a ways. So you continue down this line and then you cross a street. The line goes on. Past stores, past restaurants, past loading docks no interviews, just line for 3minutes. Now I don’t know how long the people in the front have been there, and it is unclear whether this is the only store in Tokyo that will be selling the PS3, but I really hope the PS3 is the worth the wait.
A Notre Dame basketball phenom must cut her hoops career short after a grenade blows off her hand in Iraq. CBS always has interesting and entertaining clips, sometimes funny, sometimes newsworthy. This short video really makes you think.
If you take yourself too seriously you may not want to watch this video. You may think you’re too good to be made fun of by LisaNova. You’d be wrong. Lisa’s great as Teenie Weenie, the amalgamation of every pop star you love to hate. The guy who plays the bouncer is spot on. Everyone, everywhere has been kept out of a club, bar, or party by some steroid ridden eyesore in desperate need of a hug.
Arnold Schwarzenegger held onto the Governor's seat in this week's elections in California. Direct from Sacramento it's a live video feed from his victory party (where we see him holding onto someone else's seat). Fun times!
This short animated clip is just hilarious. We watch a young boy swear up a storm in the back seat of his father's car. His explanation is that he has tourettes syndrome, so he can't control himself. Tourettes is a real disease that shouldn't be taken all lightly, but this clip is still hilarious. My only complaint with the video is the sound. It was a bit low through it, but once I raised the volume on my system it was just fine. That might be something to consider in future videos though.
Good for a few laughs. But seriously, videos like these really open our minds to other cultures and how different they are to ours ... between the pointing and belly laughs. (I can only assume that they must laugh just as hard when watching videos of us when we're dancing!) The fuuny guy in green must be on drugs though.
This video by Charged Productions is a hilarious take on the original video message from the founders of YouTube after their company was aqcuired by Google. It is a lesson in sound editing; even the background street noise matches perfectly. If you haven't seen the original video you'll want to view it at some point because it makes this parody even more funny. Enjoy!
A common tranquil scene by the roadsides in rural Vermont. This is a calming moment in the northern part of the state, Rutland. The soothing sound of a babbling brook is the background. Get away from it all without actually leaving your desk.
There are many beach sunrise videos around, but this is one of the best. The camera is steady, the resolution is better than most. 28 seconds of serenity.
