And in response ...
This fourth video from geriatric1927 is a video response to another video about YouTube itself. In it he discusses about his own online habits, and he is quite computer literate. I don't think I've seen another man of his age so intune with the computer world. He is though, and although these early videos are quite simple, his words are what make them worth watching. He is candid with his views, and he has a way of putting them together well. One thing I noticed is that when he speaks his eyes are usually shut. That might be something to work on, but it is a small thing. I'm just one that feels you should look someone in the eye when you're speaking. Same goes for a camera.

Some thoughts on double standards.
In this third video from geriatric1927, he talks about an issue that is bothering him quite a bit. He brings up a the idea of double standards in reference to the treatment of two people in very similar situations. They are handled quite differently, and he has no problem discussing it here.
The situation at hand is a head of a school losing his job for kissing a girl on the forehead. A Russian official had knelt down and kissed a young girl on the stomach. Yet nothing happened to him. The KGB didn't rush in to arrest him. Definitely a different standard here. geriatric1927 speaks well and the videos have nice intros. Definitely one to watch.

Parents just don't understand!
The eighth video from lonelygirl15 sees the return of choppy editing, and it is a short video. Barely a minute long. Bree is upset because her parents didn't let her go out with Daniel on a planned outing. Not much to the video than that. Although you do kind of feel bad for her.

The Lonelygirl15 music video!
This seventh video from Bree is a music video with her, Daniel and appearances by Owen and Purple Monkey. They are lipsyncing to Grillz. Not sure what prompted this change in attitude. Daniel even comes out of hiding behind the camera because she said he didn't like being in front of it in the last video! Apparently they received some bad comments, and this was her response. Funny video.

The sixth video from lonelygirl15 introduces us to the person she discusses quite a lot in her past videos, Daniel. He is also the one in charge of her video editing. He doesn't put his magic touch on this video, and it really shows! This video is choppy with horrible audio in some parts. Definitely not the best video, but at least you get to see who Daniel is. That's something, but not much.

In this fifth video from lonelygirl15, we see Bree cracking those books and getting some studying done. We learn she is home schooled, which really isn't all that strange. I wish I was home schooled back in my day. We have some cool editing and effects in this one with some interesting facts she's learned. She actually found a way to make watching her study a bit fun. Hard task, but I think she accomplished it. What do you think?

Did nobody watch Friends?
I've seen this group on YouTube since I started watching videos on YouTube a few months ago, but I've never watched one of their videos before. This is two guys take on why nobody watches television anymore. They say because it just isn't funny. I happen to agree with them. When it comes to comedic television, it just isn't there anymore. I don't even watch comedies on television anymore.
Last year was the first time I watched one, and it was cancelled! Poor Freddie. I actually thought it was funny too. Guess I was the only one. This video takes a look at one of the best comedies we had in recent years, Friends. We go through the entire series in only ninety seconds. Funny stuff, and I think I'm going to have check out more of Nobody's Watching in the future!

In the spotlight: mejpye
Mejpye is a vlogger I stumbled across recently, and in the week's ahead I will take a look at what she has done. There isn't much known about this vlogger, so I'm taking a journey into unknown territory. Let's see what we find!
This first video they produced went on YouTube four months ago, and it is a tribute to the vlogger's father. We watch her as she plays piano while soothing images play in the background. Nice simple relaxing video. I'm sure her father would be proud.

A second attempt!
Here is geriatric1927's second attempt at a video. He is still in the early stages here as he finds his way through YouTube. The only thing of interest here is he discusses what will he will be talking about in future videos. This will be about what annoys him and what news bits he finds stupid. I'm sure he'll have a lot to talk about in future videos, but this one isn't worth watching much.

Another vlogger I will be taking a look at in the weeks ahead is geriatric1927. As the daughter of a man born in 1925, this vlogger particularly interests me. The older generation typically has so much to say, and I know when my dad speaks up about something I tend to listen. I don't think I'll ever see my dad on YouTube. He doesn't even know how to run a computer!
This older gentleman seems to know how to do that just fine, and it shows you that people of all ages watch YouTube videos. This first video allows geriatric1927 to get his feet wet. We have a little bit of music, and him talking about being on YouTube. He has an easy nature about him, and I think I'm really going to enjoy seeing and hearing what he has to say.

A take on the classic!
This music video from Maldroid is made completely by the band itself on practically no budget. It takes the concept made popular by the classic music video, Aha's Take on me, and makes it their own. The video mixes live action with animation, and it does quite well. Definitely unexpected to see how well this video actually is when they say they worked on it with no budget. Definitely something to watch with this one. Check out the band on myspace here if you want to see and hear more.

Meet the Purple Monkey ... puppet!
Shh. Don't call it a puppet. It's sensitive. In this video, lonelygirl15, also known as Bree, introduces us all to a little friend of hers that helps her out through all kinds of times. We have some effects in this video as well, and I actually found this one a bit cute. It actually had a purpose, unlike her first video blog. I'll be talking more about Bree's videos tomorrow!

That's what this second video from Lonelygirl15 discusses. Still no sign of her. We have some music thrown over other videos as she tells us what she thinks they are saying. The music is More Than Words by Extreme. A quick laugh, but a pretty pointless video. Let's move on.

In the spotlight: lonelygirl15
Over the next few weeks, I'll be taking a look at a few different vloggers on YouTube. I'll be going back in the archives to see what they have that is good, bad and even ugly. Meet lonelygirl15. She's new to me, so I have no real idea what I'm about to see as I enter her vault.
This first video is from six months ago. Her very first video, and it isn't even about her. It's her pondering what happened to a fellow vlogger that appeared to have fallen off the YouTube radar. Lonelygirl15 thinks she was eaten by dinosaurs. The video isn't even forty-five seconds long, with some crude animation thrown in. A bit of funny, but I still don't have an idea on just who this girl is. Let's move on.

This video is a bit different from the usual fair from BeHeard. This shows three of the freedom writers actors and their video diaries from when they visited the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. We can see and listen to their thoughts as they remember one of the largest events in our world history of the 20th Century. Once again simple and thought provoking. This group is always a must watch.

A simple but heartbreaking reminder.
This video is a cry for help, simply said. In our world, there are people that need our help. Their are children starving, and we sit in our homes with filled refrigerators. This video shows the plight of the people in Africa using images played under the song, Angels. Not sure which version this is, but I know it isn't Jessica Simpson. The video is quite simple, but nonetheless powerful! Sometimes we just need a reminder to be thankful of what we have and to help those that don't have it. Just watch.

Do you know how many touchdowns O.J. Simpson ran at USC? A LOT!
The last week or two the fact that Simpson had planned to go on television and tell the world just how he would have killed his wife made news. It was all over. Yet, we know he says he still didn't do it. This would be how he would if he had. The interview never made it on air because it was cancelled days before.
Well, not sure how they did it but the Ska Brothers have the interview. Only not really. These two are comedic geniuses. This is there latest video. Here we have the interview we might have seen if it had aired on television. These two are simple with their video work, but the focus is always on the comedy. That is never lacking with these two. Check their latest out!

Swingers meets Sling Blade!
This parody trailer from ButterTV pokes fun at two very popular movies from the 1990s by combining the two in a quick trailer. Written by Chris Cox, Matt Sloan and Darren Des Voigne, we have some great fun here. For those of you that are a fan of Blame Society Films, you might recognize Matt Sloan from there. This trailer is just plain funny with some good dialogue and acting by the characters. Definitely worth watching. Check it out!

His hands are bananas ... literally!
I wasn't completely sure what I'd find when I watched this video. The title is a bit strange, and I never thought it would be so literal. What we have here is a music video from Nandrews in which his hands really are bananas. It is shot entirely in black and white, and the opening sequence is quite good here. It definitely pulled me in to watch more of the video. The song is hilarious. There are a few strange moments, but overall this video is fun to watch. Some great quick comedy. Check it out!
