As many of you know, there is a little football game happening in Columbus, Ohio on Nov. 18 that has been billed as perhaps the greatest regular season college football game EVER… Let’s face it, ANY game between Ohio State and Michigan can be considered as such, but this one is going to be special, for good or ill. Columbus is known as a football-crazy city—especially for “The Game” — and it has its share of hooligans who don’t take a back seat to any other “football” fans overseas.
This is a video produced by the university and distributed through the Columbus Dispatch Newspaper of the fan behavior around Ohio Stadium during the last time Ohio State was undefeated heading into the Michigan game in 2002. Used as a reminder for fans to behave themselves for this year’s game, this video is both a harrowing cautionary tale and unfortunate preview for what’s to come — win or lose — in a town intoxicated from the success of its football team as well as a countless number of alcoholic beverages.
This video is not for the weak. It presents excessive drinking, partying, revelry, violence, language, ignorance, depravity, and vice of all sorts… in other words, Saturday can not get here soon enough… I’ve got my ticket (and my riot gear).
